



Nightingale Lodge
Florence Nightingale (1820-1910) is best known for her role during the Crimean War and is considered a founder of modern nursing. ​She spent much of her childhood at her uncle Peter's estate at nearby Lea Hurst that was bequeathed to Florence's father on condition he take the Nightingale name.
